Ideals of American Democracy
The United States of America ideals of democracy are seen as self-evident, and they are
universally accepted all the time. They came from Europe in the seventeen and eighteenth
century during the enlightenment period. The ideals were integrated into the constitution,
declaration of independence and associated bill of rights. Therefore, the following are the ideals
of Americans democracy (Rashid, 2017)
Enlightenment
Even though self-government and concepts of democracy exist way before, the
forefathers of America were influenced the enlightenment period that took place in seventeenth
and eighteenth century of the "European intellectual movement" various intellectuals such as
Voltaire, Rousseau stressed more about the significance of self-government and democracy and
in a direct manner stressed about the future era like the forefathers of America.
