“Is the New Immigration Really So Bad,” by Card.
Agree
Assimilation of immigrants has been rampant in the USA since 1970. The idea that I tend
to agree with the article ‘Is the New immigration really so bad’ by Card, Is that the assimilation
of immigrants in the USA has led to an increase in wage gaps. On the same, immigrants in 1970
tended to earn as much as the natives and the wage gap was narrow (Card, 2005). Recently, the
native’s wage is approximately 20 percent higher than the immigrants while native women wage
is 10 percent higher than the immigrants.
Explanation
The increase in the wage gap has been increasing due to the gap in education between
natives and immigrants. The gap of skills and abilities in workplaces tends to differentiate the
level of wages per hour. It is highly evident that the education in the USA has been able to
produce a high quality and advanced education system. Many of the immigrants who come to
united states admit their native country’s education system is arguable of low quality. This also
