A brief explanation of National Service-Learning Clearinghouse (NSLC) and its role in the community include the organization is a community of service-learning that helps students in grade twelve, kindergarten, and higher education, tribal programs, organizations that are community-based, as well as all other organizations that are interested in strengthening communities and schools through service-learning (Eyler and Giles, 2015). Furthermore, NSLC gives access to online resources for free, the largest service-learning library materials, national listervs of service-learning, and technical and reference assistance services. The identified problem or the community need I hope to address in guiding graduate students on useful activities they can engage in after clearing from their higher learning institutions to be role models in the society to the young and other youths still undertaking their degrees and diplomas. Notably, this is a community problem that in most instances is left undressed and it is an issue that affects a high percentage of the future generation in the community. The service learning experience related to leadership as the learning objective of the course is through acquiring leadership skills by guiding the graduate youths to join useful activities to become responsible people in the society. Additionally, through the guidance sections, the graduates have been able to become their own personal leaders and role models to other youths in the community. LEADERSHIP PROJECT PART 1 3 My experience with service learning to date is that it has positively impacted on my academic learning. Furthermore, on personal outcomes, service learning has improved my personal efficacy sense, spiritual growth, moral development, and personal identity (Eyler and Giles, 2015). On social outcomes, service learning has improved my citizenship skills and social responsibility. On my career path, it has helped me in connecting with community and professional’s members for career and learning opportunities. LEADERSHIP PROJECT PART 1 4 References: Eyler, J., & Giles Jr, D. E.
