How to write an effective paragraph
So, a paragraph is a group of sentences that have one main idea. A good paragraph
has all of its sentences connected to the focus and topic. A good simple paragraph will
therefore include a topic sentence which is often but not usually the first sentence in the
paragraph. It tells the reader the paragraph’s main idea. This is followed by a supporting
sentence which gives explanation, examples, opinion, and information to support the topic
sentence. Finally is the concluding sentence which is the final sentence of the paragraph. It is
similar to the topic sentence and reminds the reader of the focus and topic of the paragraph.
