GCU How Do You Plan to Provide Service to The Profession Of ASD Specialists?
The topic is: How do you plan to provide service to the profession of ASD specialists? You do not need to answer the question. Just respond to each student discussion board:(Haley) As an elementary ASD specialist, the number one goal is to provide students with the necessary supports and services to be successful. As an ASD specialist, I will utilize data and collaborate with the team to set goals based upon the present needs of the student, and support these goals with ethical practices. Evidence-based practices will be implemented to ensure that the student is receiving the highest level of education. In addition, the practice itself will be modified to fit the student needs. To ensure practice is beneficial to the student, progress monitoring is crucial. This data will help prove the implemented intervention is appropriate for the student. Throughout the implementation of these practices, in addition to progress monitoring, collaboration will remain consistent. The team will meet to discuss how the student is learning g to generalize skills across a aridity of environments. Furthermore the student will be granted access to the necessary related services in order to benefit from instruction. Occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, etc. should and will be asked to support goals to ensure the generalization of skills. (Tesha) My plans are for teaching. I had a teaching job for the last two years as a structured teaching teacher teaching elementary aged students with autism. I plan on returning to this profession and finding another job as a teacher. As a teacher I will provide lessons in social awareness as well as academics and life skills. These lessons will be geared towards helping my students be successful in reaching their goals set in their IEPs as well as learning everyday skills needed to learn and grow. I will also provide assistance for general education teachers that may have students with autism in their classes as well. Most general education teachers do not have the needed training to help students with autism. Not saying that is bad but that is where helping these teachers will give them the tools needed to help their student be successful. I will also continue to grow my own knowledge and continue to learn new strategies and work on prefecting the skills I have now to my best abilities.(sara) Services I would want to provide as an ASD specialist is consultation, training, observations, feedback and full support for educators working with individuals with ASD. I would love to be able to go in to schools and classrooms and assist with teacher needs for supporting their students with ASD. Supports for each teacher and individual would look differently and would be case by case. I do not want to limit my services just for special education classrooms but general education classrooms, working with the teachers and with in the classroom to ensure every student with in the room is successful and all unique needs are being met. Autism can be complex, and never looks the same with each student. What might work with one students may not work with the next. facilitating and fostering an environment of academic, behavior, and emotional growth across every setting I work in is my goal. Working in general education classrooms would be outside of my comfort zone as I have been self contained for 7 years, I thrive in this setting and often help out my fellow colleagues through out the county by assisting with behaviors, visuals, and classroom set up. If there was a position just for that in my district, I would take it.

Walden University Single System Design of Research Discussion
Directions:In this week’s case study, you decide whether the social worker in the case study has appropriately chosen a single-system (subject) design and implemented it in such a way that it can be considered an appropriate example of evidence-based research. To prepare for this Discussion, read the case study Social Work Research: Single Subject and criteria for using single-system (subject) designs as evidence of effective practices in this week’s resources. Consider whether the study design described in the case study will serve the purpose of evaluating the program’s practice approach (case management with solution-focused and task-centered approaches). Consider whether these approaches are well suited to evaluation by the types of measurement used in the study. Consider to what objective measurement the numerical scales used to measure problem-change and task completion corresponds. Consider what new knowledge and evidence for the efficacy of the treatment approaches Chris has generated with her study.Post an evaluation of the proposed study design described in the case study file. Explain whether the outcome of Chris’ study with her client George would lead you to adopt the model of case management with solution-focused and task-centered approaches, and substantiate your choice. Provide recommendations for improvements should Chris and her colleagues wish to submit the study to the evidence-based practice registry. Include a rationale for your recommendations.Support your post with specific references to the resources. Be sure to provide full APA citations for your references.Resources:https://class.content.laureate.net/6eba9a29bf70255...Plummer, S.-B., Makris, S., & Brocksen S. (Eds.). (2014b).
