Make sure that your challenge impacts some aspect of the program goal that you created.Identify your needs from your consultant that would help to better serve your students, address your advocacy issue, and improve your result. Please complete the SMART goal format. Attach yo will find the SMART goal applicationthis is the padlet information. "https://padlet.com/chemichemi2016/7vegqgr7c0xblhco"Critique from the teacher about the padlet:Hi Jill,This was a great start at addressing the area of bullying which can impact the academic, personal/social, and career aspects of student life. Regarding some suggestions for improvement:- The Mindset and Behaviors listed do not correspond with the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors. Make sure to list them with their labels (i.e. B-SS) along with their descriptions. ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors can be found on page 3 of the ASCA National Model textbook.- Your SMART goal was missing from the padlet that explains the targeted population, date, what will be increased or decreased and how.- A program wasn't described to utilize your counseling skills to support bullying. How will you share information to others to support your efforts and what resources will you use about strategies that have already been successful to support these efforts?Example on how to do the assignment:Revised Padlet Linkhttps://padlet.com/rachealschlein/spob11m8gtdhkdd8 *In case the PDF of my SMART Goal template shows up blank when you try to download it from my Padlet, I have attached the PDF version to this postUnexpected Result When Implementing ALP When I implement my Financial Preparedness Plan, a possible issue that may arise is a lack of parent involvement. Parents will be allowed to attend the virtual sessions with their students so that they can aid them with their financial plans. For students who will be independent for the purposes of their FAFSA, they may not need as much of their parents’ help or information, but it would still be ideal to have them involved. For students who will be dependent, they will definitely need their parents’ help and information. If parents are unable to attend the sessions, they may not fully understand how to fill out the FAFSA and need additional support. If parents are not engaged or for some reason unable to assist their students, this could impact students’ ability to fill out their practice FAFSA, which would then decrease the number of completed FAFSA financial plans.Needs from Consultant This would be a situation where I could consult with other school counselors for support in implementing my ALP. Dougherty (2013) described that consultants can use problem-solving skills to support their consultees by defining the problem, gathering data, and developing and evaluating interventions. For my ALP, I need support with engaging parents in the financial planning process so that my students can successfully complete their practice FAFSA financial plans. I am hoping to find a way to gather data about how many students are encountering this as a roadblock so that I can intervene as necessary. With that being said, what might be the most successful intervention in this case to increase parent involvement? Would it be more beneficial to try to invite specific parents to engage in one on one meetings or offer a few options for times to host a general parent meeting? For parents whose employment situation is uncertain due to the pandemic, how can I help them accurately fill out their forms? What if there are some parents who simply refuse to allow me to help them because they do not want me to be involved in their financial situation? I think that my program addresses students in terms of their financial needs, but I am interested in finding a way to work with parents as well so that they can provide accurate information to their students for their financial plans.ReferencesDougherty, A.
