INT 113 Module Four Discussion Sample: Government Regulations
Various measures of government influence on trade and employment:
Employment Law (Maascetveli.org, 2015)
Minimum wage set by the Commission, as of July 2013:
o 803.68 Turkish lira > 16
o 700.93 Turkish lira < 16
o Doorman / 868.27 Turkish lira
Female employees qualify for 16 weeks of paid maternity leave (8 weeks prior to birth and 8 weeks after birth) –
Art. 75 Labour Code, 2003.
Sales Tax (DutyCalculator, 2015)
VAT (sales tax): 18%
Trade Policies (Office of the United States Trade Representative, 2014)
“Import licenses are required for products that need after-sales service. . . and for some agricultural products.”
High tariffs (85–100%) and special tax treatment for the sale of distilled spirits and tobacco.
Export subsidies range from 5–20% for some agricultural product categories.
“Court decisions have on many occasions led to ICTA’s blocking access for all consumers to various Internetbased service providers, such as the weblog hosting site wordpress.com and social networking sites like
MySpace, and ICTA’s on-again/off-again ban of video-sharing website YouTube.”
Business Observations
Employment laws in Turkey are fairly progressive for the region, which is likely influenced by the proximity to
Europe and the ties to the EU.
Trade policies regarding the trade of alcohol and tobacco products could be restricting. The high taxes are there
to generate further income for Turkey.
There is a heavy encouragement to export, which is illustrated by the subsidies offered for certain agricultural
products. This boosts the Turkish economy.
The restrictions on information through the ICTA might be concerning for some investors. This could be
considered an ethical issue regarding censorship. Companies that heavily utilize marketing through MySpace,
WordPress.com, or YouTube might find additional problems.

SOCW 6070 Walden University WK 4 Leadership and Social Work Discussion Board
As a social worker, you bring your own lens—that is, your own set of assumptions, biases, beliefs, and interpretations—into your interactions with clients and the human services professionals with whom you collaborate. Human services organizations have their own cultures that influence their organizational lenses. An organizational lens reflects key assumptions about the individuals to whom the organization provides services. These assumptions influence the organization’s policies and procedures which, in turn, impact service delivery. For example, an organization that focuses on understanding the perspectives of the clients it serves may allow clients to provide feedback about their client experience through membership on advisory boards or boards of directors. The clients may have the power to make recommendations and decisions about the organization’s policies and procedures.undefinedUnderstanding cultural lenses—your personal lens, as well as those of the organizations and other individuals with whom you work and interact—will enable you to better serve your clients.undefinedFocus on the Paula Cortez case study for this Discussion. In this case study, four professionals present their perspectives on the Paula Cortez case. These workers could view Paula’s case through a variety of cultural lenses, including socioeconomic, gender, ethnicity, and mental health. For this Discussion, you take the role of the social worker on the case and interpret Paula’s case using two of these lenses.undefinedhttp://mym.cdn.laureate-media.com/2dett4d/Walden/S...undefinedBy Day 3undefinedPost how you, as a social worker, might interpret the needs of Paula Cortez, the client, through the two cultural lenses you selected. Then, explain how, in general, you would incorporate multiple perspectives of a variety of stakeholders and/or human services professionals as you treat clients. Be sure to use reference.

Johnson and Wales University Sports in Film and Literature Essay
You must answer numbers 1 OR 2. Then select and respond to one of the other questions (# 3 OR 4). In all, you will have two questions answered in complete, well-developed ESSAYS, carefully proofread.
Do NOT conduct ANY research for this exam. Your insights are to be YOURS. However, when referring to specific works, follow the conventions of citing the source in the text. For example, In the story “Mourning Glory,” the hero’s journey of Warrenfeltz is clearly shown when his team finally wins the championship. This is when he returns with the elixir. According to Brandon’s father, “There was something greater going on” (Ballard). This elixir, the victory, which was brought to the town by Warrenfeltz, the hero, has a tremendous impact in the entire grieving town.
If you are referring to a film, mention the title, correctly punctuated in the text, itself. There is no need for a Works Cited page for this essay since you will ONLY be referring to works from the class.
All responses should in essay format (Intro paragraph, Body Paragraphs, Concluding paragraph) with complete sentences and paragraphs that have been well developed and carefully proofread). Be sure to provide evidence and examples to support your assertions. There is no specific page requirement; write as fully and completely as possible and until you have nothing more to say for each question. When appropriate, use as many references to course ideas and course material (i.e., film, documentaries, short stories, reading excerpts, class discussion/lecture and examples from the world of sports). ALSO, DO NOT DOUBLE UP ON THE USE OF STORIES. You want to demonstrate a good awareness of multiple readings/films.
You must answer # 1 OR 2
1. Thinking about Curt Schilling in “End Game,” argue, in a well-developed essay, that he is a tragic hero according to Aristotle’s characteristics of a tragic hero as presented in our class notes. Which of Aristotle’s characteristics of a tragic hero are reflected in Schilling? Use specific references to the story to show how the characteristics are displayed by Schilling. Which traits are not reflected? Be sure to demonstrate a clear understanding of Aristotle’s theory by including all the characteristics and using direct references to the work to support all of your points.
2. In a well-developed essay, consider ”At the Corner of Love and Basketball” as a tragedy as defined by Aristotle. In your essay, include all the characteristics of tragedy as defined by Aristotle in our class notes (there are seven). Explain which of the characteristics are reflected in the story and connect each reflected characteristic to specific references from the story. Be sure to also name which characteristics are missing (if any) and explain your reasons for that position.
You must also answer ONE of the following questions, either question 3 or 4.
3. Write a well-developed essay that answers the following questions. Define
hubris as used in this class. Explain the hubris of Kip Litton and at last three effects that his hubris has on specific people in “Marathon Man.” To develop your point, make direct references to and analyze at least three specific actions or words of Litton.
4. Many of the works we have analyzed this term have dealt with young athletes. In the poem “To An Athlete Dying Young” by A.E. Housman, the poet seems to insist that to die young means that an athlete who dies young is lucky because that person will not have to endure the difficulties, tragedies, decline, and heartbreak that life and aging will bring. However, not all the works we have analyzed seem to share this view. Select either "The Legacy of Wes Leonard” OR “A Football Son Calls His Mother” and, in a well-developed essay, explain how that story contradicts Housman’s message about the benefits of dying young. Be sure to support your points with specific references to the other work you select.

its due today buy I can turn it in late, by tomorrowFor this assignment you will be creating a 1-page community handout that presents information about resources that address the needs of an at-risk population in your community. The handout can be used to educate your community, influence policymakers, advocate for additional resources, and even bring with you on an interview with a community agency. Please be sure to address all of the following in your assignment: Provide a quote that captures the spirit of a community. Describe the community and provide an overview of the demographic statistics of population in the community. Tip: You may begin with the city/town/county website to obtain this information. Identify an at-risk population within the community that will benefit from the community resource handout (i.e., community members of color, individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, children at low-performing schools, families of incarcerated individuals, etc.). Examine three reasons as to why this population is considered at-risk (i.e., risk factors may be related to institutional or social conditions within the community, oppression, discrimination, access to care, etc.). Describe three specific challenges human service professionals may encounter when working with the at-risk population identified. Examples include: stigma related to the helping process, resistance to receiving outside help, challenges for this population in utilizing professional assistance, lack of trust between the population and helpers, social factors within the community that are barriers in accessing care, and/or institutional or social conditions that contribute to the community problems. Tip: Use the Purdue Global Library and APA in-text citations. Explore three local community resources that are available to the at-risk population (i.e., support groups, community health/mental health centers, community service programs, resources that address a particular basic need insecurity, etc.). Please include: a brief description of the resource (1–2 sentences) how clients would access the resources, and a link to the resource website.
