The Moors Play is an inspiring play whose major goal was to entertain the viewers. The
play treats its viewers with a humorous, but brutal viewpoint regarding the unpredictability
associated with gender roles. The women in the play are nothing but subjects to men’s desires.
The play is a comedy and occurs within the walls of a mysterious house. Jen Silverman attempts
to give a tale that is deeply appalling and horrific, seditious and peculiar but having a touch of
humor joined with a modern point of view. The actors try all they can to bring out the humor that
the playwright intended. For instance, the actors are not willing to recognize the apparent
realities before their eyes, and Emily is seen not to get along with their imaginations. This gives
the play its exceptional combination of comedy and strangeness. The lines within the play are
sharp, humorous, and appear to ride the mocking rhythms of the play like a moorhen on a
rigorous breeze.
Question 2
A successful satire is supposed to accomplish 3 things: ridicule deeply, amuse
extensively and make statements regarding the subject under discussion. The Moors play does
not accomplish all of those, despite the fact that it is was meant for entertainment. Even though
the play displays an external fact regarding the category as well as the period, it attempts to
