The treatment theory for Eliza
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I would use the cognitive behavioral therapy as it would enable us to identify the
stressors in Eliza’s life that would be the root cause of the negated and false thoughts she had
resulted in believing. The use of the cognitive behavioral therapy would, therefore, delve more
focus on enabling Eliza to live a more fulfilled and healthy life by adopting healthy and positive
thoughts. For instance, we would try to make Eliza digress from thoughts of being unworthy of
friendship to embracing the fact that she is indeed a worthy being (WebMD, n.d).
I would also educate her that such feelings of resentment would only get worse if she
kept entertaining them. The use of cognitive behavioral therapy would also prompt Eliza to gain
awareness of her condition as it would require that a proper record assessment is provided for
analysis by Eliza whilst making her aware of the fact that she is in essence depressed by having
conformed to negative thoughts as well as how the thoughts ...
