Praise and Feedback in School

One major difference exists between effective and ineffective praise. While ineffective
praise only focuses on rewarding sheer involvement without taking into consideration the entire
process or outcome, effective praise takes into consideration the individual student as well as the
main process or activity in question (Orsmond & Merry, 2011). Students also get to understand
what the teacher is actually praising in effective praise as compared to ineffective praise.
