Introduction
In this book, the author, David Ogilvy details about advertising, what does work and
what does not. He talks about how one can run a successful advertising agency, attracting clients
and the significance of the research. David sums up by comparing advertising in America against
other countries, and some individual who shaped the modern advertising. The author states
clearly that the book is for the young hopefuls and veterans that are still searching for ways of
improving their batting average at the cash registers and not for readers that think they know
everything about advertising. I have divided this discussion into three sections for the purpose of
this book report. The first section addresses everything about advertising agencies, how to
operate them and how to appeal to clients. The second section discusses several types of
advertisements, and what makes them click. The third section presents David’s perspective on
marketing.
