1. What is random error? How do you eliminated or reduce it?
Random error is a statistical variation in either direction in the surveyed data as a result of
technical challenges of device used to measure (Babin & Zikmund, 2015). It can as well be
described as the error resulting from irregular factors that are not within the researcher’s control.
As a result, the researcher is unable to collect the same measurement values through the use of
the same method. In marketing, an example of this error may be researcher committing an error
in dealing with a scale such as estimating final value to be either low or high because it’s
impossible to get exactness cannot occur. As earlier indicated, a researcher may have no control
over random errors and hence they can only be minimized. This can because through observing
and finding an average over a large number of research objects or participants.
2.
What kind of error do you face when you are collecting your data? What do you call
it? Explain each of the shortly.
Three are several errors that are made when carrying out data collection. These errors
include collected the wrong error in what we call bad data collection. Collecting data that is not
fully representative and is characterized by lies in what we call response bias error. Using the
wrong questions when collecting data in what we can bad survey questions and failing to record
the respondents’ response but instead write own response in what is called researcher bias.
