PHYSICAL AND NONPHYSICAL VIOLENCE
Physical violence occurs when a person uses objects such as stones, sticks, kitchen utensils and
clothes and part of his bodies such as arms, palms or legs to control the action of an adult individual
or a child. A person may use this form of domestic violence to intimidate and restrain the victim.
On the other hand, nonphysical violence is an act of intimidation, neglect and omissions.
Nonphysical violence has been determined to be the risk factor for physical abuse (Robins, A.
