Theory
Operational amplifiers are fundamental building blocks of Analogue Electronic Circuits. They
can be defined as linear devices that are composed of all the abstract qualities that are necessary
for almost optimal DC gain and are consequently used widely in signal modification, attenuation
or to carry out mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, integration and
differentiation. These opamps are used with external control feedback systems such as resistors
and capacitors between its terminals. These external control feedback systems establish the
output of the electrical circuits that increases the strength of a weak electrical signal without
changing the other characteristics of the signal, and by efficacy of various signals that is looped
back to control system configurations whether resistive, capacitive or both. The operational
amplifier consists of two high impedance inputs (inverting input & non-inverting input) with
three terminals. The other remaining terminal being the source and the sink of either voltage or
current. The amplifier voltage gain can be:
•
Voltage- V- in and V-out
•
Current-I-in and I-out
•
Transconductance-V-in and I-out
