1.What did you learn from this assignment?

2.Think about interacting with other engineering students, especially those who are different from you. How can you apply what you learned to your interactions?

3.Did what you learned in this assignment change your views on the roles and responsibilities of engineers? If so, how?

4-

While reflecting on current and emerging technologies, consider the challenges and concerns associated with having people of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, body types, etc. interact with the technology. Whenever humans are interacting with technology there are also ethical concerns.

Now, review the NSPE Code of Ethics. Identify at least two specific elements of the code of ethics that may have been violated (or should have been considered) in the scenario on the video by the Algorithmic Justice League. What are some specific steps you as an engineer should take to ensure you are behaving within the NSPE Code of Ethics?

Post a brief summary (2-3 paragraphs) which addresses the above questions on the “Considering Inclusivity and Technology” discussion board.

1.

What did you learn from this assignment?

I learned that algorithm bias is something that can travel across the world just as
first as any file can be sent across the world via the internet. I also learned that the
previously used generic facial recognition algorithms did not include all the
representations of different facial colors causing computers to not recognize these types
of people. For instance, the algorithm does not recognize a black individual (Joy, n.d.).
2.

Think about interacting with other engineering students, especially

those who are different from you. How can you apply what you learned to your
interaction?
I will apply inclusivity by ensuring our interaction considers every individual.
Different individuals have different backgrounds and traditions, thus different ethics.
During the creation of an algorithm, it is important to understand that if these algorithms
are going to be used on software that will be used b...
