The speech by martin Luther king I have a dream was one of the best and well-crafted rhetoric speech
for all generations delivered on august 28, 1963 at the Lincoln memorial steps. The speech took
approximately twenty minutes of impacting lives all over the world. The speech was delivered when
racism and segregation was at its peak in United States and other prominent countries across the world.
The speech tended to alleviate the racism situation and change such kind of injustice segregation and
rules in the world. Without the fear of being condemned martin Luther king gave the speech that acted
as a reference for the black and white men. In addition, the speech was full of rhetoric elements that
made the message perfectly understood and also felt as martin Luther king intended. Martin Luther was
able to incorporate such rhetoric elements that stood out and were convincing. For instance some of
these elements included pathos, logos repetition, and ethos.

Ethos
Martin Luther king employed the use of ethos to be able to connect with the audience. This was shown
in different parts of his speech. For instance when he was starting off his speech in his introductory line
he is able to express gratitude, joy and happiness which is evident in his tone projection. To explain
further, his gratitude was mainly based on his on how he had the power of a privileged leader for such a
crowd. Also, he also discussed the emancipation proclamation and the way Lincoln was able to fight for
equality after civil wars and unfortunately the freedom is not yet felt by the black community. He aimed
