Existing policies relating to the issue of racial profiling
The fourth Amendment relating to unreasonable search and seizure: under this
Law every American citizen has the right to be secure in their houses, to be secure in
their persons and to be secure against unreasonable searches & seizures (Groff, 2015).

The fourteenth Amendment
Under this law, every single American citizen shall not be denied equal protection under
the law (Dunn, 2016).
III.
Choices available to the government with regard to the issue of racial
profiling
•
Law enforcement officers should not use racial profiling during criminal
investigation or when investigating an immigration case away from the US borders
•
Agencies tasked with making traffic stops should not use racial profiling as the
reason for pulling someone over.

As per the 1968 ruling in the case of Terry vs Ohio, the Supreme Court found that
articulate as well as reasonable suspicion, is sufficient enough for a law enforcement office to
briefly stop as well as question a citizen. However the point of emphasis was that the basis for
such suspicions should not be racial profiling but it should be based on reasonable inference
