Question description

can anyone respond to these discussion post...I need help please...

Amanda,

1. I agree with the court granting parole as an act of grace, but I believe we should limit this to non-violent offenders, and we should have a lot of supporting evidence when reviewing violent offenders, sexual offenders, and heinous acts against children.

2. Makayla, I noticed that nature and circumstances of offense was not mentioned in the state of Illinois. I'm very surprised that the state of Illinois does not consider this criteria. On the other hand prisoners are being denied for Nature of the crime in many states and parole is not being granted. The door has been slammed on a lot of old law prisoners for decades. Some of these prisoners are made to rot in prison at the taxpayer’s expense. It not cheap to house a 68-year-old in jail. I guess the offenders mental health must be really say a whole lot in the state of Illinois since nature and circumstances are not considered.
