1. How nursing practice has changed over time and how this evolution has changed the
scope of practice and the approach to treating the individual.

Over the years, the nursing practice has gone from a normal care of patients to advance the
practice of care that was once reserved for military and now best healthcare practice is availed to
everyone in the community. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing
(2018), the nurses have also acquired a code of ethics of practice that is established by various
organizations that seek the rights of practising nurses. For instance, the American Association of
Nurses protects the practical profession of nursing that allows nurses to practice healthcare
amidst the pressure they experience from the public, government and other regulatory bodies of
health. In addition, education levels have been highly advocated to ensure that the best nurse is
equipped with the right information to offer healthcare to all that need it. Unlike in the early days
of nursing, nurses now have well-established knowledge that offer them decision-making skills,
leadership skills, healthcare skills and best resource due to advance healthcare approaches. This
was not the way during the early days of nursing which saw nurses practice with minimal or no
prior knowledge and this caused a lot of deaths.
