The theory of social constructionism involves examination of and development of how
human beings understand the world. Different perspectives possessed by human beings lead
diverse assumptions of reality. According to sociologists meanings are established using previous
ones hence making the thinking process inseparable (Burr, 2006). Questions set on social
constructionism can be categorized experience generated since they are derived from the day to
day events that take place in life.
Question 1
Personal experience through family members is the most common way of getting the social
knowledge needed in life. Since birth, the human brain is born empty with a need to develop and
grow in order to reason and make a personal decision. Some knowledge has to be acquired in order
to make a decision that is helpful in life. Therefore, the family plays a vital role in providing
knowledge and experience to an individual from childhood to adulthood. During this period, a
person is under instructions on what to and not to do (Burr, 2006). It is the time when a child learns
what is wrong or right. Indeed, the parents have full control in providing social knowledge until
adulthood.
A good example is that a child learns how to walk and talk from guardians and any other
