Teen dating violence is an early form of relationship abuse which occurs in adolescents
indiscriminately. TDV is the sexual, physical or emotional aggression in dating relationships
among teenagers. Relationship abuse in teenage relationships can be as serious and scary as
abuse in adult relationships with short- and long-term impacts. The abuse manifests itself in
various forms including verbal, digital and physical. It can occur electronically or in person and
between the current or former dating partners. In most cases, violence is employed to gain power
and control, to promote fear, cause humiliation, and as retaliation against a partner.
