PHY SCI107 City Colleges Ch 1 School Teacher Discovers Astronomical Object Questions
PHY SCI 107 Read Chapter 1: What is Science? and the article: Chapter 1 - School Teacher Discovers Astronomicla Object.pdf 1. Answer the following question: at least 250 words How was the scientific method followed in the article? 2. Please read and reply to this post. At Least 2-3 sentence. Teacher finds new cosmic object Science was used in the article about the teacher discovering a cosmic object. The scientists, Galaxy Zoo and all involved all followed various scientific methods and processes. The Galaxy Zoo employees followed the proper protocol to inform Astronomers in charge of the program that Ms. Arkel found an object that seems to be unique. Then the Astronomers ran their scientific test and found out the object was in fact one of a kind. The findings were sent to the Royal Astronomical Society that review the submission of the object that Ms. Arkel found and then they responded in a science law department way. When a new science law is identified, they name it after the person that discovered the new relationship in nature and they did that in this situation. So they recognized Ms. Arkel by naming the object Hanny’s Voorwerp. The article explained how they gathered other information about similar circumstances or the effects of certain relationships with a quasar and a black hold that supports their theory. They reviewed older research and found that that object was seen before but it was never brought to the attention of the Galaxy Zoo team. So someone missed that opportunity of having an object from space named after them. Dr. Lintott said that that might be astronomers first time able to locate a blackhole that has since turned off from a quasar. Scientist have broken the entire set of events down and are tracking each part to determine more about the relationship with the blackholes and objects around it. The Galaxy Zoo program is now asking volunteers for more detailed classifications to make it easier to spot unusual objects in space. In order to have a program that will provide that type of information for the volunteers is scientific within itself. So again science was used in many different ways in the article.

Topic 4 DQ 2 (Obj. 4.3 and 4.4) CNL-515 DQ2 Read and complete the “Problem Identification Practice Exercise.” How did your problem identification process go? What went well? What could have been better? What difficulties did you run into in identifying the problem? What specific skills would be beneficial when helping a client identify a problem to address in counseling? If working with a family and/or youth, how does a counselor/school counselor consider family/school/other perspectives of a problem the client may not consider problematic? For example, a parent, teacher, or spouse may be concerned about alcohol use, yet the client/student does not believe alcohol use is causing any current problems and is not interested in addressing this problem in counseling.
