Abreu1 Renan Abreu Lee Pritchard English 2 #2204 18 October 2018 Abreu2 There are many ways in which people read as well as interpret texts. People typically read at a glance insight the text to obtain a prudent meaning of the text at their scope of disposal. Men and women have had a natural war of their gender roles and family obligations. One of these parties is believed to be more superior to the other, and this has brought the conflict of selfish interest of the same. Therefore this paper has to entail one significance lens with a detail discussion on how the setting of the narrative which would be interpreted in gender or psychological lens as seen in the story of Niagara which dominates homosexuality of the kid and the dad is trying to deal with it. Reader response lens is one of the lenses that is paramount in gender or psychological lens. Kids are elements of the society where people must take of them. It has its aspects in which a reader has to put into a critical consideration at his or her scope of disposal. At any given moment or time, the reader has an obligation to look insight text in a unique way and could a different interpretation from more than one reader at the same time. People have difference thinking and reasoning when dealing with a given text. Themes, settings, plot, and characters help readers to define an appropriate way to deal with specific issues in the text (Torres, 2012). In the setting of any given story, such as homosexuality, many aspects have to be considered in a given scenario. Proper context is where gender is, and it is prudent to consider inclusion of all genders in the setting. This will balance the law of nature that demand gender balance, and by doing so one would have eliminated gender, and all people will be comfortable when reading such a text. With the definition, the text focuses on any gender-related issues as well as attitudes towards gender and issues that affect the entire society such as homosexuality. As such, the assumption is that men and women are born different. The two genders read differently, write Abreu3 differently, as well as write on their reading contrarily. Such form of differences should be valued in any case. Therefore, in this form of setting, it is seen to be different in the gender perceptions and has to be redeemed at the starting point when one is reading a text. Consideration of the gender of the author along with the characters is also a key to evaluate. Homosexuality, for example, will see parents always define role to play in the text and offer an insight point of view in a unique manner. Men are seen to be rough and can act to win at whatever costs. While women are seen as characters who less than men and cannot force situations where it lacks possibility (Torres, 2012). Men always work on assumptions and they never might on others since they can carry out events for their own benefit. In the setting of the text, one has to observe how gender stereotypes can be reinforced as well as undermined. This is why men are the best-reinforced character that would be defined in the reading among genders. While women play less but significant role that brings light on the specific issue of mutual gain or loss to the entire narrative. The nature of the two genders in many cases is defined in the form of their different natural actions. Additionally, in the setting, one has to attempt to see how such text reflects or distorts the place men along with women have in the society. Men and women have unique positions in society. The society has roles that define the true nature of men and women. The role played by each individual in the background setting of the text will enable one to determine from which social and economic status thus each character come from (Torres, 2012). For example, men are positioned on the frontline role to see the family and the society, in general, has something to see and enable them to have a living. While women are distinct gender in the community to see the welfare of other people is taken good care of. This is in response to the family roles of women that, they are preserved in the kitchen. Therefore, men are protected from doing kitchen cores while women are Abreu4 protected from carrying out hard obligations such as defending the family from either internal or external attacks at any given moment. At this pace, one has to imagine reading a given text from the viewpoint of somebody from the opposite gender. This will always set a space that gender conflict will never end. For example, when one reads a text from a different gender perception, it will be a time to realize how the other gender perceives them in either way. This scenario will remain a nightmare that will determine the good or bad endings of gender war (Torres, 2012). Also, in such opposition perception, gender becomes a unique aspect of human gain. Every individual either men or women will attempt to maintain and uphold their dignity at a given time frame to maintain their statues ranks. In conclusion, Reader-response lens is one of the lenses that is paramount in gender or psychological lens. It has its aspects in which a reader has to put into a critical consideration at his or her scope of disposal. The society has roles that define the true nature of men and women. The role played by each in the background setting of the text will enable one to determine from which social and economic status thus each character come from. The two genders read differently, write differently, as well as write on their reading contrarily. Such form of differences should be valued in any case. Therefore, in this form of setting, it is seen to be different in the gender perceptions and has to be redeemed at the starting point when one is reading a text.
