The president has several powers under the constitution. The president’s first power as
stated in the constitution is that he is the commander in chief of the Armed forces. This gives
him the military powers required to control the military. He is also the countries chief diplomat
which gives him the power to meet with foreign aids and enact foreign policies. The president
also appoints court judges, both of the federal courts and supreme courts but for this, he requires
Senate approval (Benzine, 2015). The president also has the legislative power of introducing
laws to Congress and he does this through congressmen or senators. Other legislative powers
give the president the ability to veto laws passed by Congress and to call special congress
