Goal Setting Basics
Goal setting can be practiced by individuals or groups
Goals should always be stated in terms of the Vision/Mission
Goals should be written…unwritten goals = wishful thinking
Preparation of goals must include a statement of why things
are to be done and the reward for doing them, not just what
& how things are to be done
The ESSEX GROUP, Centerbrook,CT USA
Goal setting how to’s
•Write goal down
•list all obstacles
•list all solutions
•prioritize solutions ( Plan A, B, C……)
•Take Action
•Assess result

Management is cause, all else
is effect
Management provides leadership,
guidance, creates the climate for
achievement, communicates, provides
resources and coaches the team.
Management nurtures and builds the
attitudes which control behavior which
yields results.
The ESSEX GROUP, Centerbrook,CT USA
Behavior that gets rewarded gets
repeated.
Remember that failing to sanction or correct
negative behavior is equal to rewarding that
behavior. Management that refuses to recognize
or confront counterproductive activity not only
tolerates but rewards it.
The ESSEX GROUP, Centerbrook,CT USA
What gets measured gets done
It is not enough to merely measure activity.
Only measure activity that will contribute to the
achievement of the Vision, accomplishment of the
Mission, reaching the Goal. To do otherwise risks
rewarding unproductive activity. Choose
measurements that correspond to results, not
merely how busy the staff was.

BUSI 740 LU Customer Satisfaction and Supply Chain Literature Review
literature Review InstructionsThe purpose of this research project is for you to create a scholarly piece of graduate-level research and writing, which conforms to current APA format. Competency in the current APA format is required of all Business graduates of Liberty University, as set forth by policy of both the Graduate Faculty and the administration. You will research and write a literature review on a topic relevant to your course. You will have approximately 7 modules/weeks to research and write the paper. At the beginning of Module/Week 2, your instructor will provide a list of approved topics for this assignment. Be sure to check the Announcement page and your email for the approved topics. Simply select a topic, and then begin working on the project. Do not “recycle” any work from any previous courses you have taken. Your research paper will be a comprehensive thematic review of the scholarly literature related to your topic. What is a literature review?“A literature review discusses published information in a particular subject area, and sometimes information in a particular subject area within a certain time period.A literature review can be just a simple summary of the sources, but it usually has an organizational pattern and combines both summary and synthesis. A summary is a recap of the important information of the source, but a synthesis is a re-organization, or a reshuffling, of that information. It might give a new interpretation of old material or combine new with old interpretations. Or it might trace the intellectual progression of the field, including major debates. And depending on the situation, the literature review may evaluate the sources and advise the reader on the most pertinent or relevant.”[i] How is a literature review different from an academic research paper?“The main focus of an academic research paper is to develop a new argument, and a research paper will contain a literature review as one of its parts. In a research paper, you use the literature as a foundation and as support for a new insight that you contribute. The focus of a literature review, however, is to summarize and synthesize the arguments and ideas of others without adding new contributions.”[ii] The academic research paper also covers a range of sources, but it is usually a select number of sources, because the emphasis is on the argument. Likewise, a literature review can also have an “argument,” but it is not as important as covering a number of sources. In short, an academic research paper and a literature review contain some of the same elements. In fact, many academic research papers will contain a literature review section. But it is the aspect of the study (the argument or the sources) that is emphasized that determines what type of document it is. Why write literature reviews?“Literature reviews provide you with a handy guide to a particular topic. If you have limited time to conduct research, literature reviews can give you an overview or act as a stepping stone. For professionals, they are useful reports that keep them up to date with what is current in the field. For scholars, the depth and breadth of the literature review emphasizes the credibility of the writer in his or her field. Literature reviews also provide a solid background for a research paper’s investigation. Comprehensive knowledge of the literature of the field is essential to most research papers.”[iii] What is the format for literature reviews?“Just like most academic papers, literature reviews also must contain at least three basic elements: an introduction or background information section; the body of the review containing the discussion of sources; and, finally, a conclusion and/or recommendations section to end the paper.Introduction: Gives a quick idea of the topic of the literature review, such as the central theme or organizational pattern.Body: Contains your discussion of sources and is organized thematically.Conclusions/Recommendations: Discuss what you have drawn from reviewing literature so far. Where might the discussion proceed?”[iv]What is a thematic literature review?“Thematic reviews of literature are organized around a topic or issue, rather than the progression of time.”v“Sometimes, though, you might need to add additional sections that are necessary for your study, but do not fit in the organizational strategy of the body. What other sections you include in the body is up to you. Put in only what is necessary. Here are a few other sections you might want to consider:Current Situation: Information necessary to understand the topic or focus of the literature review.History: The chronological progression of the field, the literature, or an idea that is necessary to understand the literature review, if the body of the literature review is not already a chronology. Methods and/or Standards: The criteria you used to select the sources in your literature review or the way in which you present your information. For instance, you might explain that your review includes only peer-reviewed articles and journals. Questions for Further Research: What questions about the field has the review sparked? How will you further your research as a result of the review?”vi This section is required and must be included in your paper. This section of the literature review is where you integrate faith and learning in this course. After reading Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God’s Work,” write a 3–5-page section that integrates the Genesis model, i.e., the creation-fall-redemption-consummation framework, with the learning objectives of this course, which is part of the required 19 pages of content. Conclude with how your integration may be used for furthering God’s purposes for business on earth. Important Points to ConsiderThe paper is to be written in strict conformance to current APA standards, and must contain at least 19 pages of content (excluding the title page, abstract, and references), utilizing at least 12 scholarly references. The paper is to be submitted through SafeAssign at the end of Module/Week 8. It is highly recommended that you download and read the instructions to avoid any stress created by issues that are the result of waiting until the last minute. A SafeAssign draft check will be provided for you to use to improve your Originality Score prior to your final submission.Three levels of current APA headings must be used throughout the paper, as this is a graduate-level research paper. Some students do not fully understand the difference between plagiarism and paraphrasing. Paraphrasing is when you take a source or someone else’s idea and say it in your own words. When you paraphrase, you must still give the author’s name, date, title of the source, the scholarly journal where it came from, and the exact website address or book. However, when you directly quote a source, it must have quotation marks around the quote, or (if 40 words or more) it must be set in block quotation format. You must also give detailed information of where you acquired the quote. For the purpose of this academic paper, adhere to the follow rules when quoting or using a source:Do not directly quote more than 120 words from any one source. If the source is 2,000 words or less, do not directly quote more than 50 words from any one source.Do not use the same source more than a total of 3 times within the whole document for quoting or paraphrasing.Quotes must contain the section (if provided) and paragraph or page numbers of the quote, and this information must be placed in the reference. In all instances, use current APA guidelines for citations and references. The paper must not be a series of quotations. I need assistance to complete my final assignment. I did choose the topic Customer Satisfaction and the Supply Chain.

Capella University Consumer Decision Making Process and Consumer Behavior Discussion
In writing, apply a decision-making model of your choosing to a complex purchasing decision that you have made in the past.IntroductionConsumer behavior is one of the most interesting topics in the discipline of marketing. Attempting to understand why consumers buy certain products but not others or why a particular product becomes a must-have item is fascinating detective work. To engage in these types of activities, it is necessary to understand the role of consumer behavior within the discipline of marketing, as well as the different approaches to consumer decision-making. Although understanding precisely why consumers behave the way they do is not always possible, it is generally possible to understand themes, or the overarching rationale, for certain types of behavior. For example, convenience is a theme that pervades an enormous number of goods and services. The wide range of consumer preferences creates many different categories of customers and a large number of choices of products. Because of the variability within consumer behavior, it is important to know how consumer behavior has evolved and what trends may appear in the future. By understanding how consumer decision-making impacts the products that are available now and in the future, marketers may help direct their companies to decisions that meet customer needs and bring greater profitability.PreparationTo prepare for this assessment, please review the following important topics:Targeting to Customer PreferencesThe ability of modern companies to be successful often depends on their ability to target particular products to the right type of customer. Having a clear understanding of the different categories, or segments, of customers is a critical part of targeted marketing. Such segmentation has not always been the way products are marketed. At the turn of the 20th century, Campbell's Soup was sold in only 21 flavors, whereas today, Campbell's has over 30 flavors of low-sodium soup alone—not to mention the dozens of other flavors that are available to meet consumers' wants (CSC Brands, 2005). The simple lesson from Campbell's is that companies must understand the different segments of customers and their preferences and tailor their marketing efforts as needed.Consumer Decision-Making ProcessAlthough one person's consumption habits may look like random craziness to other people, the reality is that most individuals employ a fairly standardized process for certain types of purchasing decisions. Understanding the theories related to models for consumer decision-making is a first step for marketers who want to make sense of consumers' actions. Many variables affect the type of decision processes a consumer will use, but patterns in decision-making do emerge. For example, when a consumer is buying his or her first car, this consumer is likely to fully engage in each of the steps in the consumer decision-making process. However, when a consumer becomes loyal to a particular brand of cars and is about to buy his or her eleventh new vehicle, he or she will most likely truncate the decision-making process dramatically.ReferenceCSC Brands, Inc. (2005). Campbell's: Our company. http://www.campbellsoupcompany.com/InstructionsAs consumers, we all undergo a decision-making process when considering which products to purchase and use. Choose a complex purchasing decision of which you have been a part in your personal life or in your job. Using a decision-making model of your own choosing and your chosen complex purchasing decision, complete the following:Define your chosen decision-making model.Describe, in detail, how you experienced each step in this consumer decision-making model as it applies to your complex purchasing decision. For clarity, describe each step in a separate paragraph.Use proper APA style and formatting. The content of your assessment should determine its length. Visit Evidence and APA for help with APA.Competencies MeasuredBy successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:Competency 1: Assess the role that customers assume to acquire, consume, and dispose of products and services.Describe how the decision process influenced consumer behavior.Competency 2: Analyze consumer behavior.Analyze consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision.Competency 3: Assess the managerial application of customer behavior concepts.Assess the managerial application of customer behavior concepts.Consumer Decision-Making Model Scoring GuideCRITERIANON-PERFORMANCEBASICPROFICIENTDISTINGUISHEDAnalyze consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision.Does not identify consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision.Identifies but does not analyze consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision.Analyzes consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision.Analyzes consumer behavior within a complex purchasing decision and can distinguish the phases of the consumer's decision-making process.Apply a consumer decision-making model to the purchasing decision.Does not apply a consumer decision-making model to the purchasing decision.Discusses a consumer decision-making model relevant to purchasing decisions.Applies a consumer decision-making model to the purchasing decision.Applies a consumer decision-making model to the purchasing decision and contrasts the decision with other consumers' decisions.Describe how the decision process influenced consumer behavior.Does not identify how the decision process influenced consumer behavior.Identifies but does not describe how the decision process influenced consumer behavior.Describes how the decision process influenced consumer behavior.Describes how the decision process influenced consumer behavior and uses the information to make predictions on future purchasing behavior.
