In the article, the author talks about meetings that he has attended and how all of the different departments threw each other under the bus. What I mean by throwing each other under the bus is saying that this department is the reason for this and this apartment is the reason for that. Whenever you are in a meeting, I believe that everybody in that meeting room serve as a purpose for the company. So everybody in that room is the reason for the company failing. They are the reason the company is up and running. We work as a team. I believe that if you have recommendations for another department I believe that in a meeting that is the best time to do it. There are ways to say things without being rude or disrespectful. Each department can always use some advice to better each other. So in the situation about taking off his shoes at the cenacle. I believe that some people wait on others to do certain things so that they can follow behind them. Sometimes you have to lead and you may not even know it.

Bregman’s article about barefoot leadership captures the type of leader I aspire to be. Who wouldn’t want to be the source of inspiring others in positive ways? I would be honored to be known as the “risk-taker” of the group if it meant those risks sparked growth and positive change. This type of leadership would have greatly benefited Thomas and Richard at Whole Cloth, Inc. by helping them to step outside of their norms. Both men are stuck using their typical approach to problem solving which is having major negative impact on the company. If they could be willing to taking a different approach, even one that may carry temporary negative consequences, they could benefit from longer term goal success.
Kegan & Lahey’s idea of critical awareness allows for personal growth. This supports Bregman’s barefoot leadership theory in that being critically aware of oneself allows recognition of opportunities to take risk in order to spark change. You must be able to recognize personal behaviors that are leading to negative impacts, what beliefs you hold that may support those behaviors, and have the willingness to take risks in changing those behaviors in order to grow.

What, if anything, in Bregman's article could benefit Thomas or Richard in their struggles at Whole Cloth, Inc.?
How do Bregman's observations relate to Kegan & Lahey's idea of critical awareness?
Classmate 1:
In the article, the author talks about meetings that he has attended and how all of the different departments threw each other under the bus. What I mean by throwing each other under the bus is saying that this department is the reason for this and this apartment is the reason for that. Whenever you are in a meeting, I believe that everybody in that meeting room serve as a purpose for the company. So everybody in that room is the reason for the company failing. They are the reason the company is up and running. We work as a team. I believe that if you have recommendations for another department I believe that in a meeting that is the best time to do it. There are ways to say things without being rude or disrespectful. Each department can always use some advice to better each other. So in the situation about taking off his shoes at the cenacle. I believe that some people wait on others to do certain things so that they can follow behind them. Sometimes you have to lead and you may not even know it.
Classmate 2:
Bregman’s article about barefoot leadership captures the type of leader I aspire to be. Who wouldn’t want to be the source of inspiring others in positive ways? I would be honored to be known as the “risk-taker” of the group if it meant those risks sparked growth and positive change. This type of leadership would have greatly benefited Thomas and Richard at Whole Cloth, Inc. by helping them to step outside of their norms. Both men are stuck using their typical approach to problem solving which is having major negative impact on the company. If they could be willing to taking a different approach, even one that may carry temporary negative consequences, they could benefit from longer term goal success.
Kegan & Lahey’s idea of critical awareness allows for personal growth. This supports Bregman’s barefoot leadership theory in that being critically aware of oneself allows recognition of opportunities to take risk in order to spark change. You must be able to recognize personal behaviors that are leading to negative impacts, what beliefs you hold that may support those behaviors, and have the willingness to take risks in changing those behaviors in order to grow.
