--The reason a training needs analysis (TNA) should be done is to identify what trainng should be provided for the overall organization and for individual employees. Some training needs are obvious and have been done for years for many reasons. The TNA will identify that trainng that should be repeated for any reason. A TNA must be done because they are a legal training requirements which can change every year. A training needs analysis should identify all legally required training including existing laws and new laws that have an impact on training. Organizations also change their strategic plans periodically and a TNA will identify any training that is needed to achieve the strategic plans.
Once all the training needs are identified by doing a TNA a yearly training plan can e developed. During the year the training plan should be monitored for any needed changes, additions or subtractions.
