Parenthood is not easy as many people think and until one becomes a parent, it is difficult
to realize and understand. Many things influence the parent styles of bringing up their children.
Parenting styles also have a big impact on child emotional, social, physical, and spiritual
developmental process. It will impact a child’s emotional, physical, emotional, and spiritual
wellbeing. The most common parent styles are authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive styles.
After talking a questionnaire on parenting styles, I found out that my parent’s style was
authoritarian and my style is authoritative style. There are similarities and differences between
my parenting and that one my parents and they had a big influence on the person I am today.

The similarities between my parenthood styles and for my parents is the fact that they
involve strict rules that children should follow and their future achievements. I make sure that
my children always follow the rules and guidelines and am there to correct them if they break the
rules. I always make sure that they face the consequences for mistakes they commit so as they
cannot repeat them. My parents also made sure that they dealt with my mistakes and could apply
different forms of punishments. There was no time that I could escape punishment even if it were
