Discussion 1: Literacy and Social Justice
In Part I of Other People's Children, Delpit discusses what she call the five aspects of "the culture of power" (The Silenced Dialogue). Select at least one of the five aspects to discuss as it relates to you and your teaching/teaching philosophy in your initial post. In the video, Delpit discusses Type 1 and Type 2 questions. How do these relate to the culture of power?
Please post your initial response by Tuesday October 30th and reply to the main response of at least two (2) other students by Thursday November 1st and Saturday November 3rd.
