The following article will entail a brief summary of an account of the life of two individual who
found themselves fighting in the war (WWII); Andrew O’Neil and Dylan Evans. Their stories
have been summarized in order to get a glimpse of what was going previously before the war
started, during the war and their lives after the war ended.

Andrew and his wife, Moira, were traveling in a car when they ran out of fuel and had to stop at
a fuel station for gas. That’s when the news came through about the declaration of war by the US
on the Japanese due to the bombing at Pearl Harbor. He knew then that he would have to go fight
in the war to come. Andrew had grown up harsh conditions whereby he had to work to feed his
family because his dad died while he was still young. His mother was cruel to him to the extent
of denying him dinner even though he gave her all his earnings. He went to a Christian School,
St Luke, ran by cruel nuns. Sister Benedict was the worst since she always struck his left ear
whenever he dozed off in class due to fatigue brought about by his day jobs. He enrolled for
college after enrolling for extra work around the university, something he had gotten used to
most of his life! He met Moira in college at a poetry event and they went on ahead to become
close. She reminded him of his sister Doris that had died of rheumatic disease. When Andrew
was about to graduate, he proposed to Moira to be his wife. Moira studied Literature. Her father,
Mac, wanted her to major in medicine since she had pas...
