I need this paper to be rewritten in a literature review format and fix what ever needs to be fixed. We have to relate the lit review to our research and explain why we think that literature is good for our research topic. Everything is written just need to be edited and make it more professional. I even have the work cited listed you can look over each one to know what you are going to write. I also provided the actual document before the comments that the professor made make sure to go off based on the comments and MAKE SURE ITS IN A LITERATURE REVIEW FORMAT. THANK YOU.

Alejandra Jimenez Andrina Kanadyan Pierce Gordon Research Proposal: The Comeback Kids Introduction We have chosen to study the correlation between men who have a close relationship with their mothers and the positive effects that has on the relationships they form with their partners as adults. This correlation is important to us because we think the relationship a mother has with her son greatly dictates the success he has in romantic relationships. We believe that the closer a man is with his mother the better he will treat his partner and the stronger their bond will be. Review of the Literature Article: “Parents' relationship quality and children's behavior in stable married and cohabiting families” This article discusses how positive mother/father relationship trait is related with the child’s outcomes. We Found that the more supportive the parents are, the lower behavioral problems will the child face while growing up. Though this article is not exactly on our topic it is interesting to see if parental support can have a positive or negative effect on a man relationships in adulthood. Article: “Perceptions of childhood relationships with mother and father: daily emotional and stressor experiences in adulthood” This is article proves the importance of mother-child relationship quality for both men and women on daily levels of psychological distress. States that mothers traditionally serve as the primary caregiver from which the initial parent-child bond is established, one that provides physical safety and comfort for both girls and boys . During times of stress, the mother is the parent who most often attempts to calm and reassure children. The mother-child relationship serves as a key foundation from which both men and women develop their secure base and their general emotional well-being. Holds truth across a wide age range of adults raised in different historical eras regardless of both gender. In the article “How Parents Influence The Way Their Sons and Daughters View Their Dates, Spouses, and the World” it has two sections that explore how a son’s relationship affects his relationship with his significant other and another section that explores how a father’s relationship with daughter will affect her relationships with her significant other. However, for our research study we are focusing on the way a man’s relationship with his mother affects his relationship with his significant other. The article states that a man’s first examples of how he should interact with women are the relationships his mother has with other men whether they be “husband, boyfriend, brother, father and friends.” The article cites a study done by Harvard University that discovered that mother’s influence a son’s “psycho-sexual development” and also their vocational and educational identities. Another interesting point stated in the article was that when women are dealing with men they should do their best to not degrade the men in their lives, so that this does not send a negative message to the boy. In essence, the boy could witness this and relate himself to the men; therefore, he will classify himself that way. This article demonstrates that there have been others who have questioned the same concept we are researching, but we could still benefit from more research on this subject. In “With or Without You: The Absence of Fathers and Affection. Mothers as Predictors of Men’s Affection with their Romantic Partners” we learn that the amount of affection a mother shows her son is the greatest indicator of how he will be in a romantic relationship. This article states that the amount of affection shown by a mother has such a profound effect on men that the presence of a father is not as important of a factor. A man raised in a single family household has the same effects as if the man were born in a two person household so long as the mother is providing affection for him. The absence of a father has so little to do with the way a man forms relationships because the affection a mother shows is so much more important. This article supports the idea that men who receive a lot of affection from their mothers are more likely to be affectionate to their partners, affection shown translates into closeness in a relationship for most people. In the book The Invisible Presence: How a Man's Relationship with His Mother Affects All His Relationships with Women. It is stated that there can be a direct relationship between how a mother raises her son and how he treats women. Permissive style parenting would cause the child to develop an unhealthy will and the more authoritarian style created a more disabled will. The man with the disabled will would be more submissive to his partner while the unhealthy will would be more likely to be dominant. This book strongly supports our hypothesis, showing a mother son relationship does have an effect on the husband-wife relationship Hypothesis There is a positive correlation between the closeness men have with their mother and the closeness men have with their partners. Methods We will be doing an observational study to gather information to support our hypothesis by administering questionnaires. The questionnaire will comprise of 20 questions that will gage

This is a research Proposal Submitted as partial fulfillment of our course.
Date of Submission:
DECLARATION
This proposal is our original work and has not been submitted or presented for examination in
any other university either in part or as a whole.

ABSTRACT
The relationship that mothers, or mother figures in cases where mothers are absent for various
reasons, have with their sons forms the foundation for these children’s future relationships with
the female gender. This includes their spouses.
The type of relationship that mothers and mother figures have with their sons is influenced by a
number of factors. Some of the factors that will be examined in this research proposal include;
divorce, the support that the mother provides, how responsible the parents are and the
relationship that the parents have.
This research proposal will involve a cross-sectional study. In this cross-sectional study we will
analyze information provided in the scholarly material that we picked for this study. The
scholarly material analyzes the influence of the above mentioned factors in mother-child
relationship and the influence this has in the outcome of the child as an adult in romantic
relationships. In this study, will also conduct a survey using questionnaires that will be
administered both electronically and face to face.
The data and information collected from the cross-sectional study will be used to determine the
correlation between men who had a close relationship with their mothers or mother figures and
the effects this has on the relationship they form with their spouses as adults.

1.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The quality of the mother-son relationship influences the psychological outcome of the child.
These effects, whether positive or negative are observed in adulthood whereby the type of
romantic relationship that the man has is influenced by his psychological condition in terms of
childhood experiences with the mother of mother figure (Mallers et.al, 2010).
The scope of this study is the psycho-sexual outcome of the child. This is influenced by the type
of relationship that the son has with their mother or mother figure. The same is true fr girls and
their fathers or father figures (Norment & Chappell, 2003).
1.1.Operational Definition of Terms
Mother-figure – Any person of the female gender who takes up the role of the mother in a
child’s life in the absence of the biological mother.
Psycho-sexual condition- The psychological condition of a child in matters regarding sexual
relationships
1.2 Problem Statement
Poor relationships and lack of closeness between mothers or mother figures and their sons have
been pointed out as the major factors that lead to poor psycho-sexual outcome in men (Goldberg
& Carson, 2014). This then results in romantic relationships that are abusive either physically,
financially or emotionally, which has been the trend across the world.
1.3 Justification of the Study
The increasing number of divorces and abusive relationships whereby spouses, especially men
abuse their partners both physically and emotionally has become an issue of great conce...
