Immigration Benefits to The United States
Did you know that more than 43.7 million immigrants have resided in the United States in 2016?
Every year this percentage of Immigrants is raising up, especially if people only know that this percentage
represents only the legal immigrants. Since those huge numbers of Immigrants from various regions in
the world and from different cultures contribute in a massive amount of the structure of the society and of
the country in general, that issue gradually becomes the main concern of the United States government
and the world. Sometimes Immigration could be harmful for countries, especially if it is illegal
Immigration, but otherwise Immigration absolutely has some other shining positive affects if the
government knows how to deal with it. Legal Immigration is beneficial for the United States for several
reasons such as Immigration fuels the economy, brings skilled workers in many aspects and contributes
on powerful cultural and social addition to the nation and to the American identity.
Legal Immigration supports the United States domestic economy and increase the capacity by
bringing the qualified and ready workers who are necessarily in need to work because they must get a
source of income to live. Employment of Immigrants can be done easily because they don’t ask for much.
They just need to work whatever the circumstances are, so the company might give them a low salary for
a lot of work which increases the productivity. In addition, Immigrants are more mobility to move to the
labor places, which suffers from a lack of manpower, than natives(Orrenius.4). Forty-four percent of
scientists, who are hold senior positions, are foreign-born. Moreover, Companies and work employers are
more likely to employ big numbers of Immigrants than natives because there may not be work contracts
or any complications that Immigrants have with their employers, therefore, the employment becomes
easier. 67 billion dollars were the economic profits of Immigration in 2000, and that includes taxes, living
and the other related stuff (Anderson.5). As a result, Immigrants makes the United States economy
greater, efficient and productive.

Also, Legal Immigration brings skilled workers from different aspects. Since Immigrants come
from various regions and experiences, they bring unique and different skills that can help to improve
some industries in the Unites States like Construction, computer and electronic products, Agriculture and
Accommodation. For example, most of the Immigrants who came from South America work in
Agriculture in the United States and they are doing a really good job in this craft, and they represent 33
percent from the total workers in Agriculture (Maranjian.2). Also, the Mexican Immigrants contribute in
Food Manufacturing with 29 percent of the total workers who work in this career, and that is not strange
because the main and the first source of income in Mexico is food manufacturing, so they brought their
experiences and applied them into the United States. Considering the small companies as industries, there
are so many Chinese, Japanese, Indian and European restaurants and shops distributed over the United
States which represents unique additions to the United States. Some of the industries that immigrants
bring to the United States don’t have a big demand; However, they still can improve these industries and
expand them, and apply their experiences.
In fact, Legal Immigration contributes in big addition to the cultural and social situation in the
United States. Immigration is the main factor that redounded in forming the enormous Cultural diversity
in the United States. In 2016, approximately 44 million Immigrants living in the United States and that
represents nearly 14.4 percent of the United States population, so It is a really big number (Zeigler.3). If
these huge numbers of Immigrants used in the right way, they can make a big difference. The United
States government can make Immigrants on its side if it gave them the appropriate facilities or even after
a while it can give them citizenship, so that they become just like the other citizens which increases the
population of citizens and makes the country stronger. Thus, many positive changes are going to occur in
the Society such as the bilingual and bicultural community which helps to the Cultural exchange. Also,
the usage of some other languages in Education in the United States schools like Spanish and French
which some see as a favorable opportunity to learn.

Admittedly, Legal Immigration is helpful for the United States economically and socially. This
have confirmed by the facts presented even though opposing viewpoints suggest that Legal Immigration
is not helpful for the United States for some reasons they believe in. One of the reasons is Immigrants
constitute an economic, social and political burden on the United States where the United States
government waste great amounts of money. Considering the many struggles facing the United States
government in trying to deal with Immigration, it’s known for this group of people that the United States
suffers or wastes money. Of course, This point of view of these people are not convinced and wrong.
First, Legal Immigration is a powerful supporter to the United States capacity of economy, especially if
it’s known that in 2011 the contribution of Immigration in the United States economy reached 170 billion
dollars which is approximately twice what it was in 2000 (Anderson.5). The taxes that Immigrants paid in
2017 reached 23.6 billion dollars (Campbell.3). It is noteworthy that this large amount of money is
increasing year by year which is a clear indicator that Legal Immigration is increasingly support the
United States economy. Furthermore, Legal Immigration brings new Industries to the United States. For
example, Immigration brought Tobacco industry which is a powerful income. Legal Immigrants are
qualified to serve the United States because they need to work to live and live and educate their children.
Therefore, Legal Immigration is beneficial to the United Sates.
In conclusion, it is clear that Legal Immigration plays a significant factor in the United States.
Legal Immigration is beneficial for the United States economically, socially and culturally. Legal
Immigration is a real supporter to the United States economy and the statistics are the best witness to this.
Legal Immigration forms a group of various industries that weren’t exist before. Also, it makes up a
cultural diversity and positive social impacts represented in some changes in the life in the United States.
These Impacts of Legal Immigration would help to improve the United States and push the wheel of the
Improvement to the top.
