Topic1: Discuss an issue with digital forensics Classmate: Digital Forensics is the process of recovering Data that has been erased, encrypted or secured in some way to prevent access to it. There are several categories of issues facing Digital forensics which include technical, legal and resources. Technical issues include things such as stenography, encryption, or anti forensics. Legal issues, deal with things such as the privacy of data and whether or not forensics can be used to recover data legally. Resources deals with things such as the time it takes to decrypt data or if the computing power can be used to decrypt data as well. Classmate: Digital forensics is a technique in the identification of computer based wrongdoing. Digital forensics face a few major challenges when it comes to conducting investigations which range from encryption, media formats, steganograpy, etc. Some of the challenges that some don't think about is the legal issues that happen because of the situation over digital media. Recently, Apple Inc. didn't to unlock and break into a Iphone used by a gunman in the fact of privacy issues and jurisdictional issues that would be violated and open to others being able to do the same. These are some of the major problems that are faced when it comes to digital forensics that have to do with investigation. Another problem is just that there is so much data that it is virtually impossible to check and search through all of that data which takes a lot of time that isn't necessarily available Classmate: Digital forensics is the process of uncovering and interpreting electronic data. The goal of the process is to preserve any evidence in its most original form while performing a structured investigation by collecting, identifying and validating the digital information for the purpose of reconstructing past events (TechoPedia, 2018). Some of the issue that are occurring using digital forensic is the duplication and one doesn’t know without evidence that it’s duplicating itself. Another issue that occurs is the recording history it doesn’t keep hold of older data cannot be accessible. The device location is another issue the cost benefits analysis to determine whether the device can reach into default areas. Apparently, privacy issue has been another concern with computer forensics, and can cause issues for investigators. Topic2: Discuss an issue with Business Continuity Classmate: Business Continuity is the idea that your business can still run sucessfully even in the middle of crisis. This can be costly to setup and hard to figure what it means for every different scenario. Ultimately, it's important as you need to have a plan so that your business is not harmed in the case of any major event. All risks need to be assessed as a part of the plan as well, once this is done you can have a plan. Classmate: Business continuity is an established plan in place by an organization that may be affected by a threat. IT professionals must keep in mind that a threat doesn't necessarily mean a hacker that has breached a database. Some external threats can include earthquakes, tornadoes and even fires. Therefore a business continuity plan should establish the correct and necessary procedures that can occur in your region. Planning for the worst is better than not planning at all. Another major concern with business continuity plan is the lack of preparation. Even if a business plan is written well with procedures and policies an employee with lack of training will still fail. It is essential that employees undergo training before an actual threat occurs and there is panic across the organization. The best way to combat this is by creating awareness through mock scenarios throughout the year. Classmate: Business continuity plans are important within organizations and serve the purpose of ensuring that all key resources involved within a business are never interrupted. Components that exist within business continuity plans are: planning and procedural aspects, emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Business continuity plans should ideally be perfect and vary depending on the organization. However, there are general issues that tend to pop up here and there in business continuity plans. These issues include: senior management commitment and involvement, a lack of understanding data dynamics related to the issue, inappropriate approaches in executing BCM processes, and incorrect assumptions when developing business continuity plans. For example, if senior management is not committed and involved in the business continuity plan, it will likely not succeed due to it needing their approval. A lack of understanding of the plan itself will lead to a plan that will not fit the requirements of its specific organization. Incorrect assumptions when developing these plans will also lead to the creation of an ineffective plan that will not succeed within the organization that it is meant for.

Explanation & Answer

Hey am through. The 2 word document contains a discussion post for topic 1 and a reply to a classmate for topic 2. Thank you

Topic1: Discuss an issue with digital forensics
Digital forensics is the process used to uncover and interpret various forms of electronic data with
the aim of preserving evidence for the reconstruction of events that occurred in the past. It performs
an investigation that is structured through the collection, identification and validation of digital
information. Digital forensics scope usually extends beyond desktop computers and laptops to
cloud systems, mobile devices...
