The way Friedrich uses a small piece of work to represent political fascinations that existed in his country significant and instrumental. Information about the artwork The artwork was created by Caspar David Friedrich to express the feelings he had towards Divine or to incite nationalism or to open the political frustrations in his nation during the time of the Napoleonic Wars. His friends helped him, and some light was brought out in the artwork. A friend called William Wegener who was a friend to Caspar says that the two men in the painting are Friedrich himself on the right and his pupil named Heinrich. They were both contemplating about the moon as lunar fascination had passed over Germany. The incidence was first seen in literature, but Friedrich can adopt it afterwards. Friedrich and Heinrich wore Germanic costumes in the painting to represent the rebels of the sentiments brought about by the Napoleonic war. The artwork by Friedrich titled Two Men Contemplating the moon is has taken a form that
represents himself and his student Heinrich. His form is different and was first seen in literature,
at the time he was doing this art lunar fascination had taken over Germany, and he was inspired
