The Appropriateness of the Theory
Upon reviewing Ana’s condition as presented within the case study, the most appropriate
theory that should be used to analyze her case is Roger’s Person-Centered theory. This is because
the person–centered theory facilitates clients’ actualizing tendency. Self-actualization refers to
the belief that each individual has the freedom to pursue whatever he or she considers as of value
to his or her life (Sheldon, 2013). In accordance to Ana’s revelations as expounded within the
case study, she tends to have fears that stress will with time impact negatively on her health, yet
she cannot avoid thinking about her worries. This is an indication that Ana is focused to
