chosen based on the kind of food served. There are several methods which can be used to serve
food on guest tables. There are two most popular styles namely silver service and pre-plated
service (Leidner & Robin 56). However, there are several other styles such as French service,
buffet service, gueridon service and finally Russian service.
1. French service
French service is a simple style where guests and are presented with serving dishes, and they are
placed on the tables being dined on. The latter allows the guests to choose and serve themselves.
This kind of service is used when serving Indian cuisine and mostly in restaurants. The staff is
affected only with the fact that they only present the food and leave for self-service (Leidner &
Robin 30). The customers are entitled with serving themselves which also helps to choose their
delicacies and amounts. The management has to ensure the restaurants are well equipped and the
staff is of high quality in service.
2. Buffet service
Buffet service involves food items, either hot or cold or various cuisines in colossal presentation.
