storage products. The organization has become a worldwide phenomenon due to its cutting edge technology and
development of high performance electric vehicles. The company is currently regarded as one of the most
innovative organizations in the world with its co-founder, CEO and product architect Elon Musk regarded as one
of the most innovative people in the world. With vision and experience in the technology industry, Elon Musk
has established a leadership position based on inspiring and building the organization’s value. For this month’s
newsletter, I interviewed the CEO of Tesla, Inc. Elon Musk to better understand his view of leadership and how
it applies to Tesla.

overviews and studies have focused on qualitative leadership traits. However, the Five-Factor Personality Model
provides quantitative assessment of leadership traits. The big five factors include; openness, conscientiousness
(dependability), agreeableness and Neuroticism. When a leader exercises these traits, then they can gain respect
