As a person gets older, there are various dysfunctions that one goes through. These
dysfunctions take place at different levels. A person with cognitive impairment usually has
trouble grasping new things or even remembering anything. Such people have issues with proper
concentration for a long time. They cannot make a proper decision about themselves or other
people. The dysfunctions start being very mild but as age progresses, it becomes severe. Though
they might be able to continue with their daily chores, the cognitive changes continue to occur as
they progress in age. When some of the impairments become severe, they affect a person's ability
to even have control over the movement of their bodies. Some people even find it hard to
comprehend anything and it also affects their abilities in terms of speech and writing.
The first common type of cognitive dysfunction is Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The
dysfunction causes a decline in how their memory functions. A patient may experience problems
ranging from their language to memory. They get a hard time with their thinking and making a
judgment. During the initial stages, it is difficult to remember important information with ease.
They might even forget some important appointments or recent events. As the dysfunction
progresses, it affects other skills other than the memory. It becomes difficult for one to ma...
