Minimum-wage increase, economics homework help
Please respond to the answer by giving some feedback and analysis in 1.5 to 2 paragraphs.Go to the internet and find a news article that discusses the effects of a minimum-wage increase on the U.S. economy, summarize key points.Minimum-wage increase: Currently the national Minimum wage is $7.25 an hr. Lately there has been a big push for the minimum wage to be increased to a “livable Wage” to $15.00 an hr. Now individual states have different wage requirements but they are all equal to or higher than the federal level. The argument is currently that you cannot live on a minimum wage. This is a correct statement, according to the livingwag.mit.edu calculator, the current livable wage is around $12.00 an hr. However According to Tim Warstall $4.20 is the living wage, this is based on the global income where 82.5% earn less than the median income in the United States. So I would like to think that I am a realest and looking at the minimum as just that minimum salary for minimum skilled, minimum labor, and minimum needs. In today’s world there is plenty of work for anyone that is looking. However a job that is designed to pay Minimum wage should, in my opinion, be for the young single high school aged person. Something to get extra cash and start to learn how to save and use money. Before I joint the military I applied myself in high school to learn a trade as a mechanic. As a skilled Mechanic (no collage degree) I have been personal paid over $60,000.00 for may work. That is far better than the minimum wage even today. I do not believe that there is a need for an increases in the minimum wage. I believe that there I a need to change the education system to teach basic budgeting as well as get back to teaching a skilled trade. I personally believe that if we can do that, the need to increases the wage go away. Skilled labor will always be an in demand workforce.ReferencesJones, M. A. Wilmington University Johnson and Johnson Case Study Presentation
Hi I am working on the Case study and PPT for the selected company - Johnson and Johnson companyPPT Guideline - 10 pages Case Study - 8-10 pages Case Study Guidelines : Choose a company to research. The company can be either a publicly-traded company or privately-owned, perhaps a company you are familiar with (but not your current employer). The key elements in choosing a good company for your case study are:undefinedIs the company relatively easy to research? Is there plenty of available information on the inner-workings of the firm?Is it a company you’re interested in and/or do you like their product or service? (This will make it more fun.) Is the company newsworthy? (Perhaps they’ve had a stunning failure, legal issue or maybe they recently created a killer product everyone wants.) undefinedOnce you have picked a company, post your company to the final case study paper discussion forum – week 4. No two students can pick the same company and approval will be given on a first come-first assigned basis. undefinedNote that for a large, multi-line or multi-product company, you may want to choose a single business line within the firm for your analysis. For example, with Apple, you would concentrate on their iPhone business only or with Google/Alphabet you would concentrate on just their driverless car project. You will find it much easier to focus your business analysis on one business line within a large diversified company. undefinedYour final case study paper should be 8-10 pages and will consist of 5 sections (each about 1.5-2.0 pages). undefinedThe first section should be an overview of the company:undefinedWhat does the company do? What product or service does it offer? Where is it located? Who are its main competitors? What is the market structure (e.g. pure competition, monopoly, oligopoly, etc.)? How is it regulated? undefinedThis first section should provide a background or baseline understanding of the company in support of the rest of the paper. undefinedFor the remaining four sections, should include the following: undefinedA supply and demand analysis illustrating the most applicable terms, concepts, or ideas in Chapter 3 to include the following – consumer behavior (purchasing power and substitution effect), targeting, switching cost, positioning, price elasticity of demand (demand determinants), interpreting income and advertising elasticity. A pricing analysis illustrating the most applicable terms, concepts, or ideas in Chapter 14 to include the following – value in use/value based pricing (product specifications, ease of use, service frequency, change order responsiveness, loyalty programs, and empathy in order processing), couponing, bundling, price discrimination, and price skimming versus full-cost pricing. A “What they got wrong” analysis detailing a strategy mistake using the course concepts. A “What they got right” analysis detailing a strategy win using the course concepts. undefinedIf you are having trouble addressing or finding enough information for any of the sections above, you can augment your analysis by articulating what you think the company should do. For example, if you can’t find any information on your company’s value-based pricing, explain how you would price the product or service and why. This is Organizational (managerial) Economics; make some decisions on behalf of your company and support them using concepts and ideas from the course! undefinedThe goal of this paper is to illustrate that you understand the concepts covered in this course and that you can apply them to a real company.undefinedundefinedRemember to document or source borrowed research using the standard APA citation style. Extensive quoting is not necessary (and not additive to your grade). Reference the source, but, to the extent possible, explain the concept or strategy in your own words. For example, if you find a great article on your company’s pricing strategy, explain the article and concepts in your own words and source it. Do not cut and paste long passages of text. undefinedThe paper should be 8-10 pages double-spaced, size 12 font Times New Roman, Calibri, or Cambria. The final paper is due on Sunday of Week 12.undefinedundefinedSections (in bold) in the paper:undefinedOverview: Case identifies what the company does, what product or services the company offers, identifies the company's founders, states where the company located or houses it's central offices, identifies the main competitors, examines the market structure (e.g. pure competition, monopoly, oligopoly, etc.), and identifies how the company is regulated (FDA, FCC, FDIC, federal/state government, or private regulations by industry, etc,).undefinedSupply and Demand Analysis: Case indentifies supply and demand analysis to include but not limited to the following - consumer behavior (purchasing power and substitution effect), targeting, switching cost, positioning, price elasticity of demand (demand determinants), interpreting income and advertising elasticity.undefinedPricing Analysis: Case identifies pricing analysis concepts to include but not limited to the following - values in use/value based pricing (product specifications, ease of use, service frequency, change order responsiveness, loyalty programs, and empathy in order processing), couponing, bundling, price discrimination, and price skimming versus full-cost pricing.undefinedGot Wrong: Case identifies what the company got wrong with proper citations if applicable. Research explored in the area is relevant.undefinedGot Right: Case identifies what the company got right with proper citations if applicable. Research explored in this area is relevant.undefinedCarefully check grammar and APA format (in-text and end of paper refs)
