What specific visual similarities do you observe in these three sculptures?
These three sculptures have visual similarities in that they capture the hero David in his
youth before he became a king unlike other previous works which had captured him as a king.
The other visual similarities is that they all depict him during the period surrounding his battle
with Goliath with Donatello’s David showing him in victory after he had severed goliath’s head;
Michelangelo’s David showing him in contemplation with a sling and a stone while Bernini’s
David shows him in the midst of the battle as though he is ducking from his foe.
