Introduction
Health care has taken another line following the introduction and employment of some
interventions. In the United States of America, most of the nurses have made use of this

interventions, and they have proved to be effective. However most of the people do not know the
benefit or the negatives and risk associated to a given intervention practice, this thus causes the
people to employ the wrong measure and practices that could even worsen their current
condition. However with the help of a physician an individual can be told the right practices to
undertake and thus improve their outcomes. Holistic health refers to a tactic of life, whereby the
provider emphasis on the whole body rather than a certain part of the body that is suffering
currently. It even makes sued of the environment in orders to study how a given person feels or
reacted thus making greets emphasis on the individual's mind body and soul. Complementary
and traditional intervention is as well very essential to ensure the wellness of the patient and
effective outcomes. It is thus clear that a single practice cannot be used on itself and be
expected to bring about a practical result. Therefore it is essential to make use of a different
method alongside the major medication to enhance effective results. This paper will thus discuss
complementary and traditional interventions; there benefits and risk, and finally how to combine
holistic and traditional interventions.

Discussion
Complimentary Modality and Traditional Interventions
Complimentary modalities are different practices and cures that are outside of evidencebased medicine and are used alongside conventional medical treatments that are recommended
by the health provider. They are meant to help the patient coup well with the effects brought
about by the disease that they are suffering from. Traditional intervention, on the other hand,
refers to basic skills, procedures, and techniques that the nurses learn to master and employees
them in the practices. Both are meant to consider issues like the connection between a person’s
body, mind, and spirit in the whole practice. By this, the nurses are at the position to offer the
best and excellent care to patients. Also, both practices are meant to boost the patients’ health
and relive them the pain for the good of their recovery. This is because both are essential for the
good of the whole process. More so, both practices can be used alongside other medication as

they are considered to be effective when used alongside other prescriptions (Gabriel, Mathew, &
James, 2007).
Complimentary and traditional intervention have many similarities as described above
However they the following differences. Complementary modalities involve activities like
acupressure, guided imagery, humor, meditation massage, and therapeutic touch. Traditional
intervention makes used of skill that they provider need to master. This basic skills involved
things like counseling, testing before administering any practice and also sterilizing the tools
before using them. Thus the activities used in the traditional practice tend to enhance a lot of
safety to the patient. In addition, Complementary modalities have more risk to the patients while
the traditional interventions have less or no risks associated thereof (Knight, Adkison, & Kovach,
2010). For instance, the complementary practices can cause stroke, infection or even

lymphedema to the patient whom they are being administered to following different condition as
it is not all the patient that can apply the practice. This makes the traditional intervention appear
to be a better practice when compared to complementary modalities.
