Investment analysis on internal combustion verses electric vehicle
Abstract
The project involved an investment analysis of internal combustion and electric
vehicle. The paper determined that internal combustion vehicles form the majority of the entire
US transportation channels with over 250 million vehicles on the US roads. In addition, the
paper determined that the internal combustion vehicle are the biggest contributor to carbon
emissions in our environment. Electric vehicles have been developed to be a major solution to
environmental pollution because it uses clean energy. Furthermore, the paper did analysis on
either investing in Toyota Prius, an internal combustion vehicle or Chevy Bolt, an electric
vehicle. We found that the internal combustion vehicle had a greater lifespan and was quite
affordable to acquire as compared to the electric vehicle. In addition, through an incremental
analysis, we determined that the internal combustion vehicle had high operation cost as
compared to the electric vehicle. However, due to many years of useful life for an internal
combustion vehicle, it was the most attractive alternative. Moreover, the paper determined that
accidents, theft, the collapse of the Uber platform, and change in the legal framework governing
the online tax business are the major uncertainties in this investment.
Introduction
Many people struggle to make car purchasing decision because they need to be sure that
they get value for their money. This has even become more complicated with growth in electric
cars. This is because, despite the type of car that a person is looking to buy, there are always
several costs that are associated with car ownership. This paper seeks to carry out an investment
