Schools today try to incorporate both disabled and nondisabled students in the general
curriculum whenever possible. The disabled group includes those having multiple disabilities
and those with physical disabilities. Despite having diverse needs, these disabled kids still share
some similarities involving their specific requirements. For instance, peer tutoring is
significantly important and helpful for every student (Turnbull et al., 2015). This is because it
allows the students to interact more and teach each other various subjects thus improving their
understanding levels. Apart from that, those in need of therapy may receive assistance from their
peers effectively and this helps them through their situations.
Another similarity involves supportive care. This is the occasion where teachers, parents
and other students commit themselves to helping the disabled students. Both groups, those with
multiple disabilities and others with physical disabilities require the assistance of others at some
point in their life before they can do various thing by themselves (Turnbull et al., 2015). Some of
the aspects considered for supportive care include dressing, eating and conducting personal
hygiene among others. Nevertheless, some of the kids manage to grasp the skills of doing the
various tasks by themselves while others remain with limited skills thus requiring a continued
care.
