Introduction
According to statistics and medical research executed worldwide, the resultant outcome
shows that the people who suffer the most from high blood pressure which is also known as
hypertension is African American. The number of both men and women from the Africana
American heritage who suffer from hypertension is forty percent more than the Hispanic and
other races in the United States. Hypertension affects these people in unique ways; studies also
show that most Africa American develops the health issue at a tender age compared to any other
group living in the United States. They stand a chance of developing complications with high
blood pressure like stroke, kidney diseases, blindness, dementia, and heart diseases. The question
most asked is the reason why the complexity is so much common among African Americans.
Researchers have not come up with an apparent reason as to why it is common, but there are
speculations. The causes include genetic factors, environmental factors, and drugs among others.
The paper discusses hypertension briefly among African Americans living in the United States
