Tanzania is a country located in East Africa. It lies along the coastline of the Indian
Ocean (Mbogoni, 2013). The neighboring countries to Tanzania are Kenya, Zambia, Malawi,
Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The name Tanzania came
from a combination of the names, Tanganyika and Zanzibar.
Tanzania’s History-1880s to Present
The struggle for independence that led to Tanzania’s nationalism lasted from 1945 to
1961. Once the First World War was over, the British colonial government wanted to steer the
