Question Description

Can't really figure out how to solve this assignment with repeated titrations. Anyone with a helping hand?

To determine the chromium content in a special steel 5,199g steel chips are dissolved in highly oxidizing acid and diluted to 1000ml in a measuring flask. The chromium is thereby oxidized to oxidation step +6. 20ml are taken from the measuring flask and added to 25 ml of 0.1M FeSO4. Excess FeSO4 is titrated with 19.55 ml of 0.02034 M KMnO4. In a blind assay, the same 0.1M FeSO4 was titrated with 24.84 ml of 0.02034 M KMnO4. The following chemical processes are preliminary: Calculate w/w % chromium in the special steel
