Description

You will be creating a learning plan for preschool-aged children. You can choose any curricular area (or developmental domain to) plan for. When you plan developmentally appropriate curriculum, it is tied to what you know about the children you are planning for. It is based on their interests, questions and curiosity, and developmental needs. It should be meant to “provoke” their learning. It is not something that is done because the teacher thinks it will be fun or cute or because it looks like a fun idea that you found on the internet or in curriculum book.

and the children. The learning plan would focus on various spectrums but in this regard, our
focus will entirely be on the children’s social and emotional development (Parkay, Anctil, &
Hass, 2014). Consequently, social and emotional development contributes to the children’s
learning success due to the ability to tolerate everyone’s diversity and competence in pre-school.
This would hence mean that learning any of the identified developmental domain in pre-school
relies on the learning curriculum plan, the parents’ and teachers’ support.

The curriculum area that we intend to focus on is the social and emotional development
