The world we live is a rapidly changing world. The future remains unknown but the
changes as time moves are increasing the imperative for intercultural learning. In addition,
we all come from different cultures and have at one time or another traveled to a country like
the United States of America made up of thousands of immigrants from distinct cultural
backgrounds. Therefore, intercultural learning is not only important in the modern era but
necessary. As it will aid in the way we interact with people from different cultures both at
social gatherings and in our workplaces. It also a way through which we can become more
appreciative of other cultures and also learn to value them.

Communication is vital for human progress and intercultural interaction as it is the
only way we are able to express our ideas and thoughts in both social and business settings.
The world we live in is a home to thousands of different cultural groups who interact with
each other on different avenues, resulting in intercultural communication. Intercultural
communication can be defined as the nonverbal and verbal interaction between people from
different cultural backgrounds (Samovar, Porter, McDaniel & Roy, 2015).
