One of the current issues that affect the United States of America is the rising number of
criminal activities that are reported daily. Both adults and children are involved in criminal
offenses. Therefore, it is crucial that the proceedings of criminal justice are strictly followed as
postulated in the constitution of the country. However, several amendments are put in place to
ensure that the protection of the rights of the defendant is also considered during court
proceedings. The primary constitutional safeguards of the defendants are contained in the 4th, 5th,
and 6th amendments of the constitution of the United States (Vile, 2015). The bills are essential
determinants of the outcome of both adult and juvenile court proceedings. The law enforcement
officers and criminal justice agents such as judges are expected to adhere to these amendments to
avoid injustice during their rulings.
Criminal procedures can be defined as the process which guarantees justice
