Annotation of a Quantitative Research Article
This week, you will submit the annotation of a quantitative research article on a topic of
your interest.
An annotation consists of three separate paragraphs that cover three respective
components: summary, analysis, and application. These three components convey the
relevance and value of the source. As such, an annotation demonstrates your critical
thinking about, and authority on, the source. This week’s annotation is a precursor to
the annotated bibliography assignment due in Week 10.
An annotated bibliography is a document containing selected sources accompanied by
a respective annotation of each source. In preparation for your own future research, an
annotated bibliography provides a background for understanding a portion of the
existing literature on a particular topic.

10 page critique and personal reflection on the textbook "Why evolution is true".
A 10-page critique and personal reflection on the textbook Why Evolution Is True. APA style is required. Your paper should allow you to reflect upon each of the themes in the chapters of the book. For example, you should focus on reflections of your growing understanding of what evolution is and what it is not. It should include your personal journey of discovery related to the concept of evolution. It should also include philosophical, theological, and sociological reflections, as well as a demonstration of a scientific understanding of evolution. Additionally, you should critique and evaluate the ideas presented in the book using your scientific understanding of the process of evolution. It also ought to evidence the following:Understanding of the relevant scienceThe ability to use relevant literature in support of your conclusionsYour individual response to the material and readings. This may involve an assessment of what you found to be particularly compelling and/or problematic; your personal thoughts and/or reactions to what is being considered; consideration of implications implicit in the materials being addressed; an assessment of the strengths and/or shortcomings of particular points; etc.

FIO The Effect of Bilingualism on Writing Ability Article Critique Paper
OBJECTIVE: Brainstorm the critique paragraphs of Major Assignment #1: Summary & Critique ARTICLE: "The Effect of Bilingualism on Writing Ability" Spend some time looking at the various categories of critique on the handout "Guidelines for Critiquing Scholarly Articles." Keeping in mind that analysis (an examination of parts in order to make better sense of the whole) and critique (careful and thoughtful judgement based on analysis) go hand-in-hand: Select one aspect/area of critique on which to focus; a good albeit simplistic place to start is to answer the folowig question about that particular aspect/area that you've selected: "Did the author effectively accomplish XYZ thing (Y/N), why or why not?"Create a claim--what will you "prove" or persuade the audience to believe in your critique. Remember: Be laser focused! Make a list of possible examples from the article "The Effect of Bilingualism on Writing Ability" that you could analyze (over estimate here, shoot for 3-5 examples). Once you have your list, create a list of "reasons" beneath each example that explain how that particular example supports your claim. SUBMISSION: You may either insert photo of your handwritten work or copy and paste your work from a document into the discussion box. To insert a photo, click INSERT above and then select either IMAGE (make sure you can see the image v. having to click on a link to see an image).

Applying Critical Thinking Project
In this project, you will address a case study that intentionally does not give you enough detail for you to quickly resolve the issue. This is meant to enable you to use the processes of critical thinking to reach conclusions. Given the gaps in information provided to you, you will identify what you know, what you don’t know, and what questions you need to ask as you start your investigation of the facts of the case. The process is designed to encourage clear thinking and to help you to identify potential cognitive traps that could derail well-reasoned conclusions. There are six steps that will lead you through this project. Most steps of this project should take no more than two hours to complete. Begin by watching the video above, which introduces the project you will be doing as it might occur in the workplace, and then continue with Step 1: Prepare to Think Critically.
